Option 1:

 

NMC OSCE Adult course for nurses – 3-day course

Course structure: 

 

Day 1: is classroom based. Day 1 features a day focused Assessments, Care planning, implementation and evaluation

 

Day 2: focuses on skills including:

  • ANTT
  • Basic Life Support – cardio-pulmonary resuscitation
  • Peak Flow
  • Fluid Balance
  • Catheter care
  • intramuscular and subcutaneous injections and the brand-new skills introduced by the NMC in November 2019

Day 3: Is a full mock NMC OSCE Exam. Individual feedback will be given.

 


Option 2:

 

NMC OSCE Adult course for nurses – 4-day course

Course structure: 

 

Day 1: is classroom-based. Day 1 features a day focused on APIE (Assessments, Care planning, implementation and evaluation), Documentation; Observation charts and common NMC practice scenarios.

 

Day 2: is either hospital or classroom-based. Half-day of OSCE Skills and half-day of supervised OSCE Skills practice

focuses on skills including:

  • ANTT
  • Basic Life Support – cardio-pulmonary resuscitation
  • Peak Flow
  • Fluid Balance
  •  Catheter care
  • intramuscular and subcutaneous injections and the brand-new skills introduced by the NMC in November 2019

Day 3: is either classroom or hospital-based. Half-day of OSCE Skills and half-day of supervised OSCE Skills practice

focuses on skills including:

  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  • Safe disposal of sharps
  • Medication administration
  • Calculating drug dosages
  • Urinary catheterization
  • Intramuscular and subcutaneous injections

Day 4: is a full mock NMC OSCE Exam. Individual feedback will be given.

 

 


Option 3:

 

NMC OSCE Adult course for nurses – 5-day course

Course structure: 

 

Day 1: is classroom-based. Day 1 features a day focused on APIE (Assessments, Care planning, implementation and evaluation)

 

Day 2: is either classroom or hospital-based. Half-day of OSCE Skills and half-day of supervised OSCE Skills practice

focuses on skills including:

  • ANTT
  • Basic Life Support – cardio-pulmonary resuscitation
  • Peak Flow
  • Fluid Balance
  • Removal of Foley Catheter
  • intramuscular and subcutaneous injections and the brand-new skills introduced by the NMC in November 2019
  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  • Safe disposable of sharps
  • Medication administration
  • Calculating drug dosages
  • Urinary catheterization

Day 3: This is a full mock NMC OSCE Exam. Individual feedback will be given.

 

Day 4 and 5: Supervisor-led practice on the stations requiring improvement identified in the mock OSCE Exam. Full range of communication skills (including verbal, non-verbal and written) by observing the interaction between the candidate and a simulated patient (this may be an actor or a nursing manakin). Your midwifery and nursing documentation is also assessed. Six stations will be scenario-based and relate to the holistic patient-centred assessment. CARE planning, two stations will be testing practical clinical skills.
